Yarisuma's Tale

Words and Music: Michael

The darkness that surround me
is the darkness known to me
For in the times since the beginning
it was all that I could see.

There was demon's lust to show me
what my life was meant to be
So I turned against my master
as his death could set me free.

In darkness I discovered
what you never want to know
Even in the brightest light of day
darkness never lets you go.

From darkness there comes power
and its lure you cannot flee
As I left the dark without
the dark within I took with me.

I wandered in the sunlight
took to sail the open seas
And I learned the ways of humans
once to me no more than fleas.

Their blood and life I took then
sacrificed them for the dark
And their cries of ppain, for mercy
served to make my spirit hard.

But I met you on that island
first with hate and lust and fear
But in time we worked together
and I dared to let you near.

You broke into my darkness
woth the light of love and care
From your tender hands I learned then
sweetest love without compare.

And the darkness it is gone now
left my heart, my soul, my mind
And your noble, gentle way of life
showed me love is paid in kind.
